Fish Seining at Jug Bay

The Patuxent Teen Paddle 2008 is an educational and awareness-raising event that will bring 30 youth to a four day paddling and camping venue, coordinated by the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, and partners Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary, Maryland National-Capital Parks & Planning Commission, Patuxent Riverkeeper Inc., and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.

After eight years of running the Patuxent River Sojourn, we have decided to create a trip geared specifically for youth. Over the course of the Teen Sojourn, students build an environmental stewardship ethic by completing various restoration projects and through on-river and evening programs focused historical, cultural, and ecological topics.

Please note that this event will involve youth groups only and is not open to general registration.
