Applicable to all streams in the Bay watershed, this training protocol provides information on how to monitor vegetation in a streamside buffer planting in a scientifically defensible manner. The data obtained by the monitoring methods described in this manual can provide measures of success for riparian buffer projects. Two monitoring procedures are outlined to help determine plant survival, identify threats to plant health, and evaluate the need for remedial action.
